Edna Hibel has created a magnificent painting " Heart and Conscience of America" to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the White House.  Proceeds from the sale of the painting will benefit the White  House 200th Anniversary Committee: Celebrating Freedom and Democracy, which is creating enriching educational packets, and video programming for school children  throughout the United States.  " Heart and Conscience of America" the original painting, made with oil glaze, gesso, gold leaf on canvas is 48" high by 60" wide plus a glorious gold frame.

Edna studied many books about the White House while she was creating this special painting involving the architecture, gardens, and history.  Her painting features the American family, and the children of our nation. .

Prior to the reception to unveil the painting, Edna was privileged to meet Hillary Rodham Clinton at the First Lady's Luncheon presented by the Congressional Club.  Below are some candid glimpses of the event.

Many First Lady's Luncheon attendees from around the country and several Representatives joined Miss Hibel later at the Dirksen Senate Office building for the reception and unveiling of "Heart and Conscience of America".  Edna signed the painting as they watched.
